This Mt Pilatus and Lucerne city tour offers a great way to experience all the highlights this beautiful city has to offer in just one day.
Starting from the city center, we take a bus to where we begin our Mount Pilatus adventure. We then continue with a gondola ride that brings us right underneath the impressive cliff of Pilatus. This mini epic adventure continues with a cable car that ends right on the top, at 7000 feet. If you have more energy, we can include a short but steep hike to the highest point of the mountain. This part of the trip is entirely up to you. If you like this level of customization, you may also like to consider our Custom Swiss Luxury Tours.
After spending some time on the summit and taking some great pictures of the incredible view, we will continue our Mount Pilatus & Lucerne Tour by heading downhill, to the steepest cogwheel train in the world — a memorable experience in itself as it manages to descend the mountain in only half an hour, all while offering panoramic views of the other side of Pilatus.
After climbing high on the mountain, we end our Pilatus roundtrip on water. We return on a scenic boat ride back to Lucerne for our city tour.
All the famous tourist attractions are within walking distance, which is just one huge benefit when touring Lucerne. On our Lucerne City tour, we will cover them all as we walk over the 650-year-old Chapel Bridge, have a stroll through the gorgeous Old Town of Lucerne, and also visit the historical Lion Monument which was carved from a huge rock.
